In de maand december doen we een drietal zondagmiddag-dubbelconcerten ter gelegenheid van het Motors Of Invention-festival. __Orbes (Sophie Durand en Manu Holterbach) bespelen een installatie die van het aloude principe 'nat vingertje en half vol/leeg glas water en maar wrijven'-uitgaat. Wat zijn er mee doen gaat echter veel verder op een poëtische en lucide manier. _Max Eastley bespeelt (en improviseert op) de door hemzelf ontwikkelde 'Arc', een instrument dat wel wat weg heeft van een kruising tussen een cello en een sitar.

MAX EASTLEY

Max Eastley is an internationally recognised artist whose work combines kinetic sound sculptures and music into a unique art form. In 2000 he exhibited six installations at Sonic Boom at the Hayward Gallery,London and travelled to Japan to exhibit and perform with David Toop at ICC Tokyo. He was also a research fellow at Liverpool John Moores Univesity.
The previous year a permanent sculpture was installed at the Devils Glen, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

ORBES

Sophie Durand, Manu Holterbach

Sophie Durand is an actress, works for theatre and film, teaches theatre improvisation. Under the name ‘Orbes’, Sophie Durand and Manu Holterbach play the ‘verres enharmoniques’.

Manu Holterbach is a young French sound artist who proposes his many-faceted talents since already more than 10 years. He invents new instruments, spatialization devices and mutant loudspeakers that were showed around the world in diverse installations and performances, in solo or in collaboration with a.o. Sophie Durand, Pierre Berthet, Jean-François Laporte, David Maranha.
